How Much Does It Cost to Get a Custom Song Made?
Share
It depends on how you make it and who you hire. You can experiment with an AI music tool, commission a personalized song service, or produce a track yourself. Each option comes with different costs, time commitments, and levels of involvement.
At Julsong, our personalized songs cost $60, $80, or $120, depending on the length. For that price, we take your personal details and turn them into a finished song, including lyrics, music, mixing, and mastering.
But choosing a custom song isn’t just about finding a price you like. It’s about understanding what you’re getting and whether it fits what you want to say.
What Are You Actually Paying For?
A personal song starts with the information you share: memories, feelings, little details, and the message you want someone to hear.
Our first job is to work through that information. What belongs in the lyrics? Where should it appear? What needs emphasis, and what can we leave out? We consider the occasion and the mood you want throughout that process.
Then comes the music. We write and shape the musical side to fit the lyrics and the intended feeling. Once those elements work together, we move on to the technical finishing, including mixing and mastering.
That process draws on years of songwriting and experience in the music business, working across different genres and producing a substantial number of songs.
When you hire a service like ours, that is part of what you’re paying for: someone making those decisions and handling the production for you.
How Much Does a Personalized Song Cost at Julsong?
We offer three packages:
- Short Song: $60 for 60 seconds, with approximately 50–90 words.
- Standard Song: $80 for 90 seconds, with approximately 90–140 words.
- Full Song: $120 for 3–4 minutes, with approximately 300–500 words.
Every package includes MP3 and WAV files, a printable gift certificate with the song title and lyrics, and standard delivery within one week or less.
Express delivery is available for an additional $20.
For example, a Standard Song with express delivery costs $100.
Which Song Length Should You Choose?
My advice is simple: think about how much information you have to share and how much you want the song to communicate.
A short, focused message may fit comfortably into a shorter song. If you want to include several memories and tell a fuller story, a longer format gives those details more room.
You don’t need to choose the most expensive package just because the occasion matters. Choose the space your message needs.
What If You Want Something Changed?
At Julsong, we offer changes free of charge within reasonable limits, where we consider them sensible and manageable.
This isn’t a promise of unlimited revisions. We want customers to be happy, and we approach requests with that in mind. If you already know you have a particular requirement, discussing it before ordering helps set clear expectations.
Can You Make a Custom Song for Less?
Yes. There are cheaper personalized song services, and AI music tools can be an inexpensive way to create a track yourself.
I think trying an AI tool makes sense if you’re making something for fun, want something quick and simple, or already understand music production and know what you’re doing.
For someone with musical knowledge, these tools can be useful. For a beginner, getting a result you’re happy with may involve more experimentation than expected. The subscription or generation cost is only one part of the equation; your time matters too.
Producing a song yourself through a recording setup is another option. The cost depends heavily on what equipment, software, and skills you already have. Starting from scratch can become expensive, but you don’t necessarily need a fully equipped studio to begin.
A personalized song service makes sense when you want someone else to handle the writing, musical decisions, and technical work.
What Does an $80 Song Look Like in Practice?
One customer chose our Standard Song package for a gift to their partner. They wanted to express love and gratitude for their time together and everything their partner had done.
After receiving the song, the customer sent us positive feedback without being asked. They told us their partner really enjoyed it and was moved by it.
We can’t take all the credit for that. The personal meaning came from the information the customer gave us. Our job was to turn it into a song that communicated those feelings.
That’s why the details you provide matter so much. A bigger budget doesn’t replace a thoughtful brief.
How to Decide Whether a Custom Song Is Worth the Price
If I were buying a song as a gift, I would start by looking carefully at the provider’s website.
- Who is behind the service?
- What do they say about their work and approach?
- Do I like the demo songs?
- Are the business details and contact information clear?
- What is included in the price, and which extras cost more?
For me, an unusually low price is a reason to look more closely, especially for a meaningful gift. It isn’t proof that the song will be bad. But I would want to hear convincing examples before ordering.
Listen to the demos. Read about the people making the music. Then choose a package based on what you want to communicate and how much of the work you want handled for you.
At Julsong, you can get a finished personalized song from $60. The best starting point is knowing what you want to say.
